Book of The Month

Vaughan ROBERTS, True Worship

What is the nature of true Christian worship? Why do we meet together for 'church' on Sundays? What does 'worshipping in Spirit and in Truth' mean? In this small book (106 pages) Vaughan Roberts proposes very practical answers from the Bible. A must-read for those who wonder how to define biblical worship.

Table of contents:
1. The Foundations of Christian Worship - 'In Spirit and in Truth'
2. The Nature of Christian Worship - 'Living Sacrifices'
3. The End of Religion - 'He sat down'
4. The Purpose of Christian Meetings - 'Encourage one another'
5. The Place of Music and Singing - 'Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord'
6. Understanding the Lord's Supper - 'Di this in remembrance of me'
Appendix: Christ's Sacrifice and Ours

Personnal review: not bad for someone who does not introduce himself as a musician. Instead his theological background helps him to give biblical, short and practical answers to the most common questions about worship. He's even funny sometimes!

Want something more practical? Read Bob Kauflin's Worship Matters (partially based on True Worship, by the way).
